# Rename Agent — Update a Bot Display Name in Botsify

> Update the display name of an existing Botsify bot or AI agent. Supply the numeric bot ID and the new name; the change takes effect immediately.

Update the display name of an existing bot or AI agent in your Botsify workspace. You must supply the bot's numeric ID along with the new name you want to assign. The change takes effect immediately and is reflected across your workspace dashboard and any integrations that display the bot name.

## Request

**bot\_id** `integer` *required*

The unique numeric ID of the bot you want to rename. You can find this in the response from [Create Bot](/api-reference/bots/create-bot.md) or [List Agents](/api-reference/bots/list-agents.md).

**bot\_name** `string` *required*

The new display name to assign to the bot.

## Response

A successful `200 OK` response confirms the update and echoes the bot's ID and new name.
